May 27, 2025 – True Corporation Plc, in collaboration with the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), sent the first real emergency alert through the Cell Broadcast Service this morning at approximately 10:33 AM to warn residents of flash flooding in Phu Kradueng District, Loei Province. The alert message read: “DDPM warns of flash flood/riverbank overflow at Pong River on May 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the areas of Phu Kradueng Subdistrict and Si Than Subdistrict, Loei Province. The water level of Pong River is currently near overflow. Please move belongings to higher ground and relocate vulnerable groups to safe areas immediately. Stay closely informed through official local government announcements.” The warning area covers Phu Kradueng Subdistrict and Si Than Subdistrict. According to the Official Statistics Registrations Systems (April 2025), the population in these areas is over 27,143 people.
