Bangkok, September 11th, 2025 – The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has partnered with True Corporation to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at enhancing the prevention and suppression of cybercrime. This collaboration covers three key areas: Data Integration and Information Sharing to support investigations and legal proceedings in a timely manner, Public Awareness Campaigns to educate people about online fraud tactics, In-depth Studies and Knowledge Exchange to develop efficient methods for prevention, detection, and response to cyber threats. The partnership also enhances protection with True CyberSafe, a service that blocks malicious links, filters suspicious calls and fraudulent SMS messages, and the 9777 Scam Report service that allows the public to report and block scam numbers. This initiative involves collaboration between the public sector, private sector, and civil society to provide comprehensive protection for Thai citizens.
Police Major General Paiboon Noihoon, Deputy Commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau, acting on behalf of the CIB Commissioner said that “the CIB plays a crucial role in investigating serious, complex, and specialized crimes, including cybercrime, which has become increasingly sophisticated and harmful, impacting national security and public safety. Addressing these issues requires collaboration from all sectors, particularly the integration of data between law enforcement and telecom providers. In addition to this partnership, True continues to protect over 60 million customers with its True CyberSafe service, which is free and highly effective. The service includes three core features: Malicious Link Filter – blocking over 2.066 billion fraudulent clicks to date (an average of 7 million per day between December 3, 2024, and September 3, 2025), Call AI Filter – using AI and government-sourced data to detect and alert users about suspicious calls, SMS AI Filter – now being rolled out to detect scam SMS messages. Additionally, the 9777 Scam Report allows the public to report and block scam calls quickly.
