Bangkok, February 25, 2026 – True collaborated with the Anti-Online Scam Center (ACSC) and the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Royal Thai Police in a coordinated enforcement operation dubbed “SAFE Doi BOY” to announce the arrest of a fraud ring involved in unauthorized registration of mobile SIM cards. The suspects exploited opportunities during youth outreach activities at educational institutions to manipulate legitimate events for illicit gain. The case came to light through data shared between True and law enforcement, which enabled in-depth analysis of registration paths, offender behavior, and connections between related mobile numbers, ultimately allowing investigators to compile evidence and proceed with legal action against the perpetrators.
Investigators found that the suspects took advantage of legitimate youth education programs – held by the company to benefit students socially and educationally — by misleading participants into registering SIM cards and scanning facial verification, then using the registered numbers for unlawful purposes.
Upon discovery of the abuse, True immediately suspended the offending signals, revoked the fraudulent registrations, and reviewed usage across all implicated numbers. The company also provided detailed technical data and potential evidence to police authorities to support further investigation and ensure the legal process is pursued to the fullest extent to protect the public and society.
Separately, True is conducting strict internal investigations regarding employees and business partners. Should any staff member or dealer be found complicit in fraudulent activities or aiding the wrongdoing, the company has pledged to take decisive disciplinary and legal action without exception.
True reiterated its firm stance against the exploitation of socially beneficial activities for criminal purposes and affirmed its commitment to ongoing cooperation with government agencies to prevent cybercrime and safeguard public security.
